DailyGammon.com	9.3	-150	"Turn-based" backgammon site which is very quick and well-thought-out. Games progress rapidly because the web-site uses "computer-guessing" to move for your opponent. If your opponent's move differs from the computer's move, the game is "rolled-back" to that point. Currently has a lot of good players at the site and is growing rapidly. Ratings are based on tourney matches -- which minimizes rating manipulation.
Gamesgrid.com	9.3	0	Seems to attract very serious (and world-class!) players. Matches are "live," meaning you are playing "real-time" with your opponent and are expected to complete your match. This is a paysite; only members earn ratings and/or can play the BOT players.
FIBS.com	9.0	-60	This, like Gamesgrid.com, also attracts good players and is FREE. Perhaps not as many features as gamesgrid, but great for playing some serious backgammon.
Playmaker-world.com	9.0	0	This is a new and growing backgammon webserver. Offers a lot of features like gamesgrid and is FREE.
MS Zone	8.8		Very popular "live" site. Players set up leagues and areas which help with the "broken ratings" at MS ZONE.
Netgammon.com	8.2		A popular and free "live" backgammon site.
ItsYourTurn.com	8.2	no ELO rating	Good "turn-based" site which has a large variety of games (backgammon, chess, battleship, checkers, etc.). Speed has improved on this site.
Yahoo	8.0		As usual, yahoo has a good game section. This site is one of the best if you don't want a turn-based game session and would rather play a person "live." In general, the level of play is lower than at other, more "focused" sites which seem to attract more serious players. This is one reason why you will see players with Ratings "out of range" (too high!).
VOGclub.com	7.5		Not as popular as it used to be -- but has lots of features including teams, ratings, etc.
